Little LUMI Model Subscribe, restart, then pick the pack

Extra characters beside Lumi, the LUMI Voice Pack on the Sound tab, and why Chat is a different item.

Steam Workshop for Lumi

Steam Workshop is how Little LUMI Model adds extra characters that walk the desktop next to Lumi, plus optional voice content. It is not required. The base pet already runs after a normal Getting Started install. Subscribe only after she walks, Settings opens, and controls feel boring. The guides hub is the rest of the map.

This wiki names two Workshop items that are actually confirmed: LUMI Voice Pack (id 3795005580) and LUMI Chat. It does not invent a catalogue of extra characters. If you subscribe a community sprite, treat that Workshop page as the source of truth, then restart Lumi before you look for it in the chooser.

Subscribe and restart

Open the Little LUMI Model Workshop from Steam, subscribe, and wait until the download finishes. If Lumi is already running, close her fully and start her again. Items appear in lists only after the download completes and the process restarts. A Settings window left open across the subscribe click will lie to you.

After restart, extra characters show up in the startup chooser and then walk beside her. They use the same desktop rules you already set: climb playground, fullscreen hide, stay-on-this-monitor. They do not get their own Home-tab affection panel. Voice from the LUMI Voice Pack is Lumi’s recorded voice; it does not apply to other Workshop characters.

If an item never appears, the usual causes are an unfinished download, a process that was not actually killed, or Steam still installing while the overlay is up. The repair order is on error help. Do not stack five subscriptions to force a refresh.

LUMI Voice Pack, step by step

Subscribe id 3795005580. Restart Lumi after the download finishes. Open Settings, Sound tab. Pick “루미 보이스 팩” in the voice pack row. It applies as soon as you pick it. If the row is empty, the pack is not finished downloading or you skipped the restart.

What it actually voices: self-talk (she mumbles every few minutes while standing or walking) and meeting chats (two or more Lumis walk up to each other and talk). The lines use streamer Lumi’s recorded voice. You still need extra copies from Call Another LUMI if you want meeting chats; the pack does not spawn a second sprite.

Sound Effects at the top of the Sound tab must be on, and Sound Effect Volume must not be zero, or the pack is silent too. Loudness follows that shared slider. To silence it without unsubscribing, pick “Not used” in the voice pack row. Focus mode is the other mute: she will not speak first and makes no sound.

The Workshop page for this pack states that the voice plays when the app language is Korean, and the in-app label is the Korean string “루미 보이스 팩”. If you hear nothing after a correct subscribe, check language, effects, volume, and whether you are listening for self-talk rather than a constant soundtrack. The files are uncompressed wav and can be hundreds of megabytes; a slow subscribe looks like a missing pack until Steam finishes.

LUMI Chat is a different product

LUMI Chat is a separate Workshop mod. It is not required. It is not the Voice Pack. Chat is where people enter an API key or point at a local LLM (Ollama comes up in user talk) and talk with Lumi directly. That path is third-party, heavier, and it can involve billing or a TTS company depending on how the mod is set up. The Voice Pack attaches pre-recorded lines to self-talk and meeting chats Lumi already had, with no key and no extra account.

You may use both. You may use neither. You should not install Chat to get voice, and you should not present Chat to a new owner as part of the $3.99 companion. This wiki will not walk through key pasting, model names, or Ollama install steps. If Chat misbehaves, disable it and confirm the base pet still runs before you file a generic “Lumi is broken” note.

Extra characters without drowning the desktop

One extra character beside Lumi is a postcard. Three extras plus two extra Lumis is a parade whether you asked for Parade or not. Keep the climb playground tight and fullscreen hide on. Owners often say about five sprites is fine while browsing; Workshop characters count toward that crowd. Details sit with multiple Lumis.

Do not enable optional extras in the same sitting as a new subscribe. Confirm hotfix 1.0.1 before Parade so a voice-enabled meeting chat does not sit on the old Settings freeze. Record Sound Effects, the voice pack row, and language on the settings checklist. Overheard is the name people connect to catching mumbles; the other forty names stay in the Steam overlay and the achievements page. Store, Workshop, and streamerlumi.com (listed mascot site, not a second store) are on the links hub. Patches: updates hub and launch notes.

If you only needed a quiet pet, skip this entire page and stay on focus mode. Workshop is a costume drawer, not a second install of Little LUMI Model.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for new Little LUMI Model owners.

Why is the LUMI Voice Pack missing from the Sound tab?

Subscribe id 3795005580, wait for the download, then fully restart Lumi. The row appears only after that. If it is still missing, follow error help instead of resubscribing in a loop.

What do I pick in the voice pack list?

Pick "루미 보이스 팩". It applies immediately. Use "Not used" to silence it while staying subscribed. Sound Effects must be on or the pack is silent.

Is LUMI Chat required for voice?

No. Chat is a separate, optional, third-party mod that wants an API key or a local LLM. The Voice Pack is recorded self-talk and meeting chats. Do not install Chat just to hear Lumi.

Do extra Workshop characters get the voice pack?

No. The pack is Lumi's recorded voice. Other subscribed characters walk beside her but do not inherit that pack.

Should I subscribe before I learn the mouse?

No. Finish Getting Started and controls first. Add Workshop after focus mode is a toggle you can find in the dark.
