Little LUMI Model Keep Lumi quiet while you work

Focus mode is Little LUMI Model’s honest work switch. One right-click (or the Home-tab toggle) and the software tells you the rule in plain language: “Lumi will not speak first and makes no sound.” She can still exist on the taskbar. I’ll Keep It Down is the achievement name that maps onto this habit. The other forty names stay in the Steam overlay and on the achievements page. Do not grind the toggle. Use the mode when you actually need a quiet block.

Manual quiet versus auto-detect

Manual focus is the right-click or Home toggle. Turn it on when a meeting starts, when you write, or when a voice pack makes self-talk too present. Turn it off when you want hums, mumbles, and credit chimes back. The Home tab also shows pomodoros left (example 6/6), which is your reminder that focus is meant to be a cycle.

Detect focus automatically is the hands-off cousin. After about three minutes on one window she goes quiet. After about one minute without input she also settles. That pair is for people who forget the toggle. It is not a mind reader. A window you leave in the foreground while you read paper notes still counts as one window. A frantic alt-tab loop will keep resetting the three-minute clock. If auto-detect feels random, watch which window is actually focused.

Auto-detect does not replace the playground list in controls. If she climbs a browser and steals attention, remove that app from the climb list. Quiet audio and stolen window focus are different problems.

Pomodoro

The Pomodoro timer moves her between focus and break on her own. You are not required to use it. If you do, treat Home’s pomodoro count as the budget for the sitting, not as a score. A break is when she is allowed to be a pet again: walks, sprints with a dust puff, the occasional mumble. Focus is when she is furniture.

Do not stack Pomodoro with a new voice pack in the same hour. Set the pack to “Not used” until you trust the cycle. Extra copies from Call Another LUMI will chat on a break; send them home if they ignore quiet.

Alarms

When an alarm fires she sounds a siren and runs around the floor for a minute so you cannot miss it. She can also call out the hour. That is the opposite of focus mode, and that is the point. Alarms are for the one moment you asked to be interrupted. Do not set a dense grid of hourly call-outs and then complain she is loud.

If you use alarms during a call, desktop audio will carry the siren. Hide automatically while a fullscreen app is in front covers exclusive fullscreen games and many share tools, but a windowed meeting will still hear her. Mute Sound Effects, or do not arm alarms in that hour.

Favours

Favours let you register a frequent action, such as showing the desktop, so she hops and does it when asked. This is a shortcut, not an automation suite. Register the one action you already use. Show Desktop is the documented example because it is harmless. Window toss is not a favour; it is an optional extra that throws a window off the screen and has no place in a focus sitting.

Hide on fullscreen, opacity, and meetings

Focus mode is audio and speech. Hide-on-fullscreen is visibility. You usually want both. Screen tab: Hide automatically while a fullscreen app is in front. Pair it with a climb playground that excludes the meeting app so she cannot hang on the title bar of a windowed share either.

Opacity is the third quiet tool. Size 1.0x is enough to pat between blocks; hqx at 2x and up makes her a poster. Stay on this monitor only can keep her off a presentation display, and it can freeze animations according to community reports — if she locks, turn the lock off and use error help.

What focus mode is not

It is not a kill switch. Closing the app is how you remove her. It is not a replacement for optional extras being off: Bongo Lumi still hits bongos on type if you enabled that toy. Steam-off persistence like Wallpaper Engine is a community request, not official, and not a broken focus toggle.

Use the settings checklist and the first-week list to record the toggle, auto-detect, Pomodoro, alarms, hide-on-fullscreen, and voice pack “Not used”. Patch notes live on the updates hub.

A good quiet block is boring: one Lumi, extras off, voice pack unused, climb list tight, fullscreen hide on, focus either toggled or auto-detected. If you still hear her, look at Sound Effects and alarms before you assume the toggle is broken. If you still see her in a game, look at exclusive fullscreen. If she is frozen, that is no longer a focus problem — that is error help.
