Little LUMI Model 1.2.0: the Mods tab arrives
File-based modding, a unified Settings list, and new behaviour additions — two days after launch.
Studio LUMI posted Little LUMI Model 1.2.0 on Sunday, 6 September 2026, three days after launch and two days after patch 1.1.0. Steam calls it a small update. The headline change is a Mods tab in Settings and file-based modding that lets mods add new behaviours and features — not only swap images and voices. This is the page that records what the patch note says and leaves the rest to the guides.

What 1.2.0 actually says
- New tab: Settings → Mods sits between Screen and About.
- What it does: lists every mod you have running — both Steam Workshop subscriptions and manually added files — in one place. Drag to reorder load priority. Toggle individual mods on or off without unsubscribing from Workshop.
- File-based modding expanded: before 1.2.0, mods could replace images and voices. Now they can also add behaviours and features through files. A behaviour module requires the 1.2.0 behaviour schema.
- Load order: when two mods change the same behaviour, the one higher in the Mods tab list wins. Changes take effect on next launch.
- Date: 6 September 2026. Filed as a small update / patch notes.
Mods tab layout
Settings → Mods shows three states per entry: active, paused, or conflicting. You see the full unified list — Workshop subscriptions and manual installs together. The drag handle on the left of each entry is the load-order control. A conflict badge appears when two mods touch the same behaviour slot.
The About tab is unchanged. The Screen tab still controls which applications Lumi may climb. The Mods tab does not replace the Screen tab.
What file-based modding means
Before 1.2.0, a mod was an image pack or a voice pack. After 1.2.0, a mod folder can contain a manifest.json, an images/ folder, a voices/ folder, and a behaviours/ folder. The manifest is required; image and voice support existed at launch; behaviour definitions are new in 1.2.0.
A character module (sprite swap) works as it did before 1.2.0. A behaviour module requires patch 1.2.0 and the published behaviour schema. Do not assume every behaviour slot is open — check the Workshop description or the mod manifest.
Who 1.2.0 is for
- Workshop subscribers who want to manage everything in one place.
- People adding characters from the Workshop who want drag-to-reorder priority without unsubscribing.
- Modders who want to add new behaviours, not only swap art.
- Anyone who manually places mod files and wants a UI to enable or disable them.
What 1.2.0 is not
- Not a new affection stage.
- Not a new named achievement this wiki can quote beyond what Steam prints.
- Not a price change. Launch offer is still $3.99 with 20% off through 17 September 2026.
- Not a replacement for the Workshop itself — you still subscribe through Steam, not through the Mods tab.
- Not a general-purpose scripting environment. The behaviour schema is a defined format, not code execution.
How to take the patch
- Open Steam → Library → Little LUMI Model. Wait for 1.2.0 to download.
- Fully quit Lumi from the system tray.
- Launch from Steam.
- Open Settings. You should see Mods between Screen and About.
- If you have Workshop subscriptions, they appear in the list. Drag to reorder.
After you update
If you were using Workshop characters before 1.2.0, they are already in the list. Read the Modding Guide if you want to build a module. Browse community modules at the Modules Hub. If Settings shows an empty list and you have subscriptions, fully restart Lumi from the tray — a background process may be holding the old session.
